Psychologist sessions for adolescents (ages 12–15)
This service makes it easier for young people between 12 and 15 years old to get help with mental health challenges.
We know that early support is important. Getting help early increases the chances of feeling better faster and gives adolescents practical tools to manage their challenges. Early intervention can prevent difficult thoughts and patterns from growing and carrying over into adulthood.

We offer help with common issues, including:
💭 Stress
💭 School refusal
💭 Self-esteem
💭 Loneliness
💭 Anxiety and low mood
💭 Social difficulties
💭 Family problems
💭 Life crises
💭 Assessment for referral to specialist healthcare services
This is not an emergency service
This is a low-threshold service for mild to moderate difficulties and is not an emergency service – even though we have short waiting times. It is also not intended for individuals with severe issues or for those who are already receiving treatment through public healthcare.
- In case of immediate danger to life or health: Call 113.
- Need someone to talk to right away? Call the Mental Health Helpline at 116 123 (open 24/7 and free of charge).
- On Helsenorge.no, you can find more information about where to get help for suicidal thoughts or concerns about others. Remember, there are many people who can and want to help you!
Who is this offer for?
The first session is always an assessment. During this session, the psychologist will map out the needs and determine whether we are the right service or if the adolescent would benefit more from other services.
- Price: The service is free for those who have child insurance with Gjensidige.
- Scope: Up to five consultations with a psychologist, either via video or in person at one of our clinics.
- Duration: 45 minutes per session.
Confidentiality and consent
- Strict confidentiality rules: Our psychologists are bound by confidentiality. They are generally not allowed to tell anyone that you are receiving help, or what you talk about. The only exception is if there is a risk that the adolescent may harm themselves or others, or if it is clear that they are not safe at home. In such cases, healthcare professionals are required to inform the relevant authorities (for example, child welfare services or the police), but we never do this without first informing the adolescent.
- Parental consent (under 16): Since this service is for children under 16, a parent or legal guardian must consent to the healthcare. Where parental responsibility is shared, both parents must provide consent before the first session. By placing this booking, you verify that both parents are informed and have agreed to the treatment.
- The adolescent’s own space: Even though a parent books the appointment, the session itself is conducted only with the psychologist and the adolescent present. Adolescents aged 12 to 16 can request that parents are not contacted about the content of the sessions. Ultimately, it is the psychologist who assesses and decides what is best for the adolescent.

Men hva kjennetegner god ros?

PRACTICE TO MEET THE CHILDS EMOTIONS
