How the treatment works
From first examination to finished treatment. You stay awake, get a local anaesthetic and go home the same day.

First: an ultrasound consultation
The vascular surgeon looks at your veins with ultrasound and tells you whether you need treatment, which method suits you and what it costs.
The consultation is non-binding, and no referral is needed. If you need treatment, you can often have it the same week.

Heat treatment (EVRF)
The surgeon guides a thin tube into the faulty vein through a small puncture. The vein is heated from the inside and closes. Blood then flows back to the heart through other, healthy veins.

Removal of visible varicose veins
Bulging veins just under the skin are removed through tiny punctures. This is often done at the same time as heat treatment.

Afterwards
You put on a compression stocking and go home. Most people are back to normal activities the next day.
