How to get surgery with us
We accept patients through three different pathways. Regardless of how the treatment is financed, you will meet the same medical team and the same strict quality standards.
Private payer
If you wish to finance the examination and possible surgery yourself, you do not need a referral. You book an appointment directly with one of our ENT specialists for an initial assessment.
Health insurance
We have a cooperation agreement with all the major health insurance companies in Norway. To use your insurance, a referral from a doctor is required. You send this to your insurance company, and you can specify that you want treatment at Dr.Dropin.
Public agreement
Dr.Dropin is chosen as the number 1 provider for ENT surgery in Norway by Helfo. Patients who experience delays in the public healthcare system can have their surgery with us. The treatment is provided exclusively through Helfo patient mediation, and the patient only pays the public deductible.
Safe settings and anesthesia
In order for the procedures to be carried out in a safe and gentle manner, the anesthesia is adapted to the individual operation and patient.
- Local anesthesia: Used for minor, superficial procedures. The patient is awake but does not feel any pain.
- General anesthesia: Used for major procedures such as tonsillectomy or sinus surgery. The anesthesia is given by a dedicated and experienced anesthesia team who monitor the patient throughout the operation and the recovery phase. The patient must fast prior to the procedure under anesthesia.
